Common Conditions

Ocular Rosacea

Ocular rosacea is an inflammatory condition that affects the eyes and eyelids, often alongside facial rosacea. It can cause redness, burning, watery or dry eyes, light sensitivity, and recurrent irritation or styes.

We treat ocular rosacea by calming inflammation, improving eyelid and gland function, and addressing underlying triggers—helping to break the cycle of flare-ups and provide long-term contro

Blepharitis

Blepharitis is a chronic inflammation of the eyelid margins, often linked to bacteria, oil gland dysfunction, or conditions like Demodex. It commonly presents with redness, irritation, crusting on the lashes, and a burning or gritty sensation.

Treatment focuses on reducing the bacterial load, clearing debris and biofilm from the eyelids, and improving gland function to keep symptoms controlled long-term

Demodex

Demodex are microscopic mites that live in the hair follicles and oil glands of the eyelids, and in excess can trigger inflammation and chronic eyelid irritation. Common signs include itchiness (especially in the morning), redness, crusting, and debris around the lashes.

We treat Demodex by removing the underlying biofilm and restoring a healthy eyelid environment, reducing irritation and helping prevent recurrence

Meibomian Gland Dysfunction

Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) occurs when the oil glands in the eyelids become blocked or stop functioning properly, leading to rapid tear evaporation and dry, irritated eyes. Symptoms often include burning, redness, fluctuating vision, and a heavy or tired eye feeling.

We target the root cause with treatments that improve gland function, restore the tear film, and reduce inflammation—helping to provide longer-lasting relief rather than temporary fixes

Sjrogens Disease

Sjögren’s disease is an autoimmune condition where the body attacks its own tear and saliva glands, leading to persistent dry eye and dry mouth. The eyes often feel gritty, irritated, and sensitive to light, with fluctuating or blurred vision.

At our clinic, we focus on stabilising the tear film, protecting the ocular surface, and reducing inflammation with targeted, long-term treatment plans tailored to each patient.
